There was a celebration at St Paul the Apostle, Kurri Kurri, last night for the commissioning of Reverend Kathryn Trimby.
Bishop Peter and Bishop Sonia joined parishioners to welcome Reverend Kathryn, who will serve as Rector for the Parish of Mount Vincent, Kurri Kurri and Weston.
Born in North Wales as one of three children, Kathryn attended Sunday School , sang in the choir, and was a member of GFS (Girls’ Friendly Society).
She completed a degree in Religion and Ethics at the University of Wales, where she received her calling to Ordained Ministry.
Answering God’s call, she eventually moved to the west of Ireland, dividing her time between parish and diocesan commitments.
A change in scenery then saw her move to the English/Welsh border.
Now, she is ready for a new calling and adventure in the Lower Hunter.
