About Newcastle Anglican

With a rich history of 175 years since its inception in 1847, Newcastle Anglican offers a Christian presence—inspired by way of Jesus Christ—within the diocese of Newcastle.

Our purpose is to enable the people of our community to flourish with a focus on extending our outreach, time, passion, and energy towards supporting the needs of our community.

The diocese of Newcastle extends along the coast of New South Wales, from Woy Woy to Laurieton and inland to Merriwa and Murrurundi. Newcastle Anglican serves this region through our parishes, schools, Samaritans, Anglican Care, Anglican Savings and Development Fund, and several chaplaincies and organisations.

Many of our services were founded by volunteers due to the need of the communities.

The Diocese of Newcastle is one of the 23 Dioceses of the Anglican Church of Australia.
