The Diocese has adopted the General Synod Policy for Safe Ministry with Persons of Concern
No person who has a conviction or finding that calls into question their suitability to be around children or young people may attend a parish activity or event, including worship, without the agreement of the Director of Professional Standards.
Whenever the Diocese is aware of a person of concern the Director of Professional Standards seeks to enter into a participation agreement with that person in which the safety of other people is of paramount concern.
The Professional Standards Committee and the Director of Professional Standards have the enforceable power to direct that a person may not attend worship or church activities.
