The Anglican Bishop of Newcastle, Dr Peter Stuart, wrote to the clergy on 5 August 2019 encouraging them to engage in debate about the Reproductive Health Care Reform Bill. He also wrote to members of the Legislative Assembly encouraging them to support the Bill. You can read his letters here.

The Legislative Council established an Inquiry into the Bill and invites the Bishop to attend as one of a number of religious leaders. Each person was invited to make a five minute introductory speech
