This Week Around the Diocese

Belmont Op Shop Up-Sizes

Belmont Op Shop moved recently to larger premises in Macquarie Street. A craft group started last week in a room separate to the trading section of the shop. It is planned that a Bible discussion group will commence in September. We welcome visitors, shoppers and those interested in joining one of the groups.

Nelson Bay Launches ‘Just One Thing’ Campaign

All Saints Nelson Bay’s campaign, ‘JUST ONE THING – Make the Difference!’ aims to provide food for individuals and families in need, in our Tomaree Peninsula community, and we’re asking YOU to get involved!

You can help by donating FOOD ITEMS, GIFT CARDS, TOILETRIES & BLANKETS. We need Cereal, soup, pasta (inc. Gluten Free), pasta sauce, rice, lentils, beans and pulses, tinned meat, tinned vegetables, tea/coffee, tinned fruit, biscuits, UHT milk, fruit juice, fresh fruit and vegetables. One hundred percent of all ‘JUST ONE THING’ donations will go directly towards providing food for hungry men, women and children in our community. All donations can be dropped off at the church on Church Street.

On Monday evenings, together with St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Nelson Bay, and Daras Van, there is a free community meal from 6.00pm – 8.00pm and free laundry service through ORANGE LAUNDRY at our church site on Church Street, Nelson Bay. COMMUNITY TRANSPORT are available for pick you up if you need a lift – you can contact them on 1300 881 852.
