GFS Newcastle Townsend Group
GFS Townsend Group Newcastle Diocese and friends recently met for lunch at Kurri Kurri TAFE for their Annual luncheon together with their special guest, Bishop Sonia. This was a lovely way to be able to get together for fellowship and also raise some money for the GFS World Project each year. This year the project is to assist GFS Sri Lanka with a much-needed literacy program titled “English for Employment Prospects” we hope will be able to improve the lifestyle and employment prospects for these young women.
Bishop Sonia Visits East Maitland
The Parish of East Maitland were delighted to welcome Bishop Sonia Roulston, the new Regional Bishop of the Inland Episcopate, to the Parish in which she heard the Gospel and was formed in faith on Sunday 27th May.
Pirates and Princesses Enjoy Mainly Music
Bubbles and songs and dancing and prancing, oh my! This week Mainly Music at New Lambton was full of young pirates and beautiful princess as they prepared a feast in the kitchen.

Callum Close Appointed Director of Music
The Christ Church Cathedral choir Sub Organist, Callum Close, has been appointed Director of Music at St Luke’s Anglican Church, Mosman. This is a wonderful step in the career of a fine young musician. Callum will be greatly missed here in Newcastle. We have benefited over many years from his leadership, musicianship, sense of humour and care for others. He was also very good at bringing the choir director coffee on a Sunday morning! Congratulations, Callum. A very well deserved appointment.
Kids and Youth at Lakes Anglican
Lakes Anglican celebrated some special baptisms this week with the Rev’d Matt Shorten, and the kids had a great time at Kidzone at they continue to look at their stop-listen-go theme.
Noah makes an appearance at Mass & Meal
Noah made a special appearance at the Mass & Meal at Cardiff this week. This family service saw guests enjoy crafts, a yummy dinner and a puppet play featuring Noah himself.
Anglican Women – Manning Deanery: Autumn Rally at Camden Haven Anglican Church
Ladies came from as far afield as Gloucester for the Anglican Women Autumn Rally held at Camden Haven Anglican Church on April 10. Rev’d Nathan Killick celebrated the communion service. His sermon honoured the role of women, beginning with a magazine article about Dorothy Dix and her advice to a young bride to be from the 30’s.
