Mother’s Union – Bunny rugs for John Hunter Hospital

The combined MU groups at the Church of the Good Shepherd, Kotara had a working bee today (7 May 2018) to make bunny rugs for the John Hunter Hospital. Generous donations from members of the church, and others, provided cloth for the rugs as well as money for nappies, jackets, etc.. A good time of fellowship was had with a very productive outcome. This is an ongoing annual project. The rugs and other items go into the “baby bundles”  distributed by the Mother’s Union. The hospital is grateful for this help – as are the mothers!

Together in Celebration

At St John’s Taree we transfer the Feast of St John, Apostle and evangelist from 27th December until 6th May each year, and we hold a Worship celebration followed by a Festival Lunch. Our guest preacher and Celebrant this year was Fr Chris Freestone, and he was accompanied by his wife Margie. About a hundred met for worship and then enjoyed champagne and nibbles, followed by a delicious lunch catered by a team of parish ladies and held in St John’s Memorial Hall. There was lots of laughter and chatter as the large crowd shared a wonderful and blessed time of celebration and fellowship.
