Saint Peter’s Emergency Relief in the Parish of East Maitland was recently nominated for the City of Maitland Service Award. In a ceremony held on the 9th of May at the Maitland Regional Art Gallery, Mayor Cr Peter Blackmore presented the Emergency Relief Team with the Award, and gave sincere thanks for the contribution of the team, and all those who volunteer their time across the city.
A joint initiative of the Samaritans Foundation, Saint Peter’s Church, and other local churches and community organisations who generously support the work of Saint Peter’s Emergency Relief, this award is an important reminder for us all of the valuable time, energy and support members of our Diocesan family give to the life of the communities in which we live.
Located on Banks Street, East Maitland, Saint Peter’s Emergency Relief has been in operation since 1992, and provides assistance for hundreds of families in the Hunter area each year. The centre is open from 10 am til 2.30 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Congratulations!
