A moving and meaningful Prayer Service for the Royal Commission was held on Sunday July 31 at St Luke’s, Wallsend.

The service was a time to pray for survivors, the Royal Commission, the Church, and those who abuse.

The congregation was invited to come forward and place a hand upon the stone at the front, or to pick up the rope attached to the stone and place it on their shoulders. “We place our shame and guilt upon the stone – confessing our failure to protect the most vulnerable in our community and breaking the trust of all those who saw in us a witness of care, honesty and righteousness.”
