This year’s Conference will focus on the theme Bonhoeffer and Public Theology. What lessons can be drawn from the writings of Dietrich Bonhoeffer in addressing global challenges such as racism, poverty and climate change? At this year’s Bonhoeffer Conference, guest speakers from South Africa and the United States bring fresh insights from their research in public theology on these contemporary challenges.

  • Professor Robert Vosloo, Stellenbosch University: Bonhoeffer, our contemporary? Bonhoeffer on time, the times, and public life.
  • Professor Juliana Claassens, Stellenbosch University: Towards a Feminist Public Theology: On Wounds, Scars and Healing in the Book of Jeremiah and Beyond.
  • Professor Barry Harvey, Baylor University: A Hard Habit to Break: Re-envisioning Public Theology in a World After Christendom.
