Anglican Women Sunday

Date / Time

All Day — 28/07/2019

Anglican Women Sunday is scheduled every year for the last Sunday in July, and this year it will be this coming Sunday, 28th July, 2019. Your parish can include the Anglican Women’s Prayer in services this coming Sunday:

Eternal God, the light of the minds that know you.
The life of the souls that love you,
And the strength of the hearts that serve you,
Help us to know you,
That we may truly love you,
So to love you that we may fully serve you,
For to serve you is perfect freedom,
Through Jesus Christ our Lord.

The aim of Anglican Women is to work towards the extension of Christ’s kingdom through: worship, study, service, fellowship and giving to promote cooperation and understanding between the various groups which may exist in a parish.

Anglican Women was originally formed as an “Umbrella Organisation” for ALL Anglican Women in the Diocese and continues to be relevant today. There is no membership fee for individuals, each Parish is asked to contribute a small fee to the Executive Treasurer.

The Diocesan Executive organises two functions per year which are open to all women:

  • Lenten Retreats in the first week of Lent
  • And an Annual Conference Spring Celebration, which will be held on Tuesday 3rd September this year.

Anglican Women provides “Thank You Boxes” which can be used, in addition to thanking God for the many blessings in our lives, but also for donations to support a nominated worthy charity. If possible please exchange coins collected for the Riding for Disabled TYB into a cheque from your Parish for easier collection at the Spring Celebration. The 2020 year will be in support of the Hunter Medical Research Institute Newcastle (HMRI).
