23 July – Number 1

  • Updated documents and communication

Dear sisters and brothers,

Every one of us is aware of the increased concern in our community about COVD-19. Once again it seems close to us and we need to exercise our responsibility to ensure sure people ministering in the church and engaging with the church are kept safe.

Thank you for all that you are doing to create COVIDSafe spaces in our Diocese. We are engaged in the ancient and prayerful work of protecting and sustaining life. It is profoundly moving to see the care clergy and lay leaders are exercising to sustain ministry, engage in mission and respond to the changing circumstances created by the pandemic.

In response to the recent increase in COVID-19 cases, the NSW Government has introduced tighter restrictions which include a cap for Places of Worship from Friday 24 July 2020.

When determining the number of persons on site you must continue to allow for 4 square metres per person with the maximum number now capped at 100 people for services and funerals and 150 people for weddings.

The following Fact Sheets and resources have been updated to reflect these changes:

The Diocesan Office continues to review the risks we are facing as a result of COVID-19 and the control measures that we have in place. The health and safety of all persons attending our sites is paramount.

The Diocesan Office has created a new Fact Sheet to assist you in managing Third Parties that come on site to make deliveries or carry out work. The Fact Sheet is available here.

For any further questions regarding these changes please refer to the Frequently Asked Questions on the website or make contact with the Diocesan Risk Officer – Heidi Randle.

Grace and peace

+Peter
