Ministering Communities in Mission Manual

Welcome to the MCiM Manual and Resource Pages

The Vision of Becoming Ministering Communities in Mission (MCiM) is central to revitalising the work of the Anglican Church throughout this region.

In these pages you will see that MCiM is centred in a baptismal theology where the vocation and gifts of every committed Christian are nurtured. God is giving the Church the resources it needs for the ministry to which it is called.

One feature of MCiM is the ability to foster vocations to the ordained ministry expressed locally. In these pages you will see how one of the ways that God's call to men and women to be signs and symbols of God's kingdom can happen.

There is great excitement in the Diocese of Newcastle and we are already see the green shoots of new outreach and engagement with local communities. These resources will help new parishes participate.

We have placed the resource on the web recognising that people in other Dioceses in Australia and overseas are exploring MCiM with various names including Total Ministry. As we draw from their experiences, we gladly offer these pages together with the stories on the website to others for their reflection and use.

This area of the website will be reconstructed in the New Year. PDFs of the resource can be downloaded below.
