30/05/2012

The largest graduation of the theological program at the University of Newcastle took place in April.

Amongst them were five ordinands for the Diocese who undertook their formation for ordained ministry within the program. Rev’ds Michelle Hazel-Jawhary, Stephen Niland, and Christopher Orczy graduated with a Bachelor of Theology and the Rev’d Nathan Atkinson graduated with a Bachelor of Theology with Distinction. The Rev’d Luke Hopkins also graduated with a Bachelor of Theology with 1st Class Honours and was awarded the Faculty medal for his academic achievements.

The University continues to provide rigorous academic learning for its students with a focus on theology within the public space.

Now in its sixth year, the program currently has over 60 students enrolled including our Diocesan candidates for stipendary ministry providing a rich learning environment within the setting of the wider university.
