Welcome to the Anglican Diocese of Newcastle

The Anglican Diocese of Newcastle is your local Anglican Church in the Central Coast, Hunter, Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Manning, Paterson and Port Stephens regions of New South Wales, Australia.

The Anglican Diocese of Newcastle is focused on outreaching to the community and many of its parishes are becoming Ministering Communities in Mission.

Fresh expressions of church are emerging in the response to become a mission-shaped church. Traditional worship takes place at Christ Church Cathedral and many other parishes.

The social welfare arm of the diocese, Samaritans employs over 500 staff in areas of disability, youth, children's and community services. There are also more than 400 volunteers, many of whom are parishioners, assisting with emergency relief and recycling programs.

Anglican Care, aged care services provides for 600 residents and growth continues with new constructions underway.

The diocese has four schools - Manning Valley Anglican College, Bishop Tyrrell Anglican College, Scone Grammar School and Lakes Grammar - An Anglican School.

The CEY Commission (Children, Education and Youth) works to to nurture, encourage, facilitate and resource ministry with children, young people and their families.

The Central Coast region of the Diocese has developed strategies to oversee ministry initiatives in one of the fastest growing population areas.
